More from "Garden of God's Heart"
Nothing daunts you it seems. Every day opening up to the world in hopeful expectation, each panel of your bridal gown bristling with hope, joined to your circle of gold in a wedded bliss of colour. A welcoming landing platform to any weary nectar seekers, open hearted like our Saviour to each leprous outcast. Drawing us in with your sunshine-centred greeting, a hoverfly’s helipad.
No thoughts for you of moving on, wondering where the grass is greenest; you stand your ground in joyful holding. An egg frying in delight in the heat of the day and the midst of the lawn. Your edges tinged with pink where the rays of setting sun caught you closing up shop.
We make you into chains, though you are far more connected than we know how to be. The lessons here for us, depressed and frantic, are too hard to learn, too simple to grasp. Nevertheless, your presence is a balm to our busy-ness and an antidote to our self-seeking days. “Look up!” you shout, “Only look up!”
